Its High Times for High Times

2013 Fall Open Division Champions

After more than 10 seasons in the league, High Times captained by Paul McCarthy notched their first CCFL Boston championship. The 2013 Fall Open Division Champions were led by newcomer Alex Palacio at quarterback, and my choice as QB MVP for the fall 2013 division. Posting gaudy numbers similar to 2012 QB MVP Kyle Mason of Moxie, Palacio was picked up via CCFL free-agency two games into the fall season. A few setbacks to veterans – Ensly Cotard to an Achilles tendon rupture, forced some new faces to step up for the team. McCarthy, having experimented with numerous QBs through the High Times tenure, finally found a player under center that brought them over the top. Unfortunately, it is short lived as Palacio with wife and new baby in tow moved back to his original stomping grounds of Southern California. High Times will finish off their summer league season with McCarthy at the helm, but already has revamped their fall roster and brought back a former strong armed High Times QB from a few years back (Halloran).

Note: Moxie went 27-0 and recorded their first defeat in the semi-finals to The U. The U moved on to the championship game to lose to High Times in a all or nothing 2 point play for the win. QB Jay Ardizzoni was sacked on the conversion by none other than Alex Palacio.

Good luck to all. And cya on the fields this fall.
